HTC One M9+ also known as HTC One M9 Plus is a high-end 4G based android smartphone. It was initially announced in April 2015 but released in May 2015. It is the successor of HTC One M9 which belongs to M series. HTC One E9+ and M9+ core features are the same but there are some enhancements which E9+ lacks. So lets take a review of HTC M9+ to see what it has to offer and what are the major enhancements.

HTC One M9+ Core Features Review

  • HTC One M9+ 4G android smart phone covering GSM Quad bands and multiple LTE bands (4G).
  • With One M9+ 3G – the maximum attainable data transmission speed is 42.2/21.1 Mbps (HSPA).
  • M9+ uses cat6 modem which is a major upgrade compared to E9+ that was using Cat4 modem. With Cat6 modem the maximum attainable transmission speed is 300/500 Mbps in down-link and up-link.
  • Uses Nano-SIM and has Fingerprint sensor to unlock device.
  • HTC One M9+ 5.2 inches display with Super LCD3 capacitive technology covering 1440 x 2560 (Ultra HD 4k) with 565 ppi is lower in terms of screen size but higher in ppi or pixels per inch density compared to E9+ (5.5 Inches).
  • Uses HTC Sense UI 7.0 as customized Android theme.
  • Internal memory is 32 GB and extendible up-to 128 GB.
  • RAM is 3 GB quiet enough to run complex applications.
  • Rare or back camera is 20 mega pixels with 2.1 mega pixel (on top) covering 5376 x 3752 pixels with autofocus and dual LED flash. You can also do automatic simultaneous image and video recording. Many software features that comes with camera such as face detection, panorama, HDR and geo-tagging are also available.

  • Video recording in multiple modes possible. You can record in 2160@30fps , 1080p@60fps and 720p@120fps with HDR enhancement and stereo sound.

  • HTC One M9+ communication capability includes Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band Wi-Fi Direct (used for miracast), DLNA (playing videos from phone on to home devices and vice versa) and hotspot.
  • M9+ has a built-in Bluetooth v4.1 with A2DP and apt-X features.
  • NFC is also available but it mainly depends on market area or operator through which its sold.
  • There is IR module built-in (IR -> Infra Red) used as remote control.
  • FM radio with RDS and Stereo feature.
  • HTC One M9+ Android OS v5.0.2 (Lollipop) will run on Mediatek MT6795T chipset and powered by Octa-Core 2.2 GHz processor.
  • For fluid visual experience there is PowerVR G6200 GPU that will take gaming to the next level.
  • There is non-removable Li-Po based battery with 2830 mAh capacity.
  • You can choose from your favourite colours of Silver Gold, Amber Gold and Gunmetal Gray.This device may compete with Samsung Galaxy S6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge according to its specs and features.
