According to androidpit there are confirmed reports of Android Lollipop 5.1 at the end of february. Android lollipop 5.0 had some issues reported by user including inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks as well as a major memory leak bug that eats alot of RAM.

With Android 5.1 update, in addition to the resolved bugs its bringing few extra features such as;

  • Silent mode addition which was missing on Android 5.0
  • System stability improvements
  • RAM management has been improved
  • Sudden application closure fix
  • Battery management has been improved
  • Wi-Fi connections issue fix
  • Okay Google function problems resolved
  • Notifications issues resolved
  • Certain vendors devices sound problems resolved
  • Other major improvements and enhancements including changes in the Material Design color palette to use higher version

Asus Android Lollipop Update

Asus has confirmed in its statement about latest Android Lollipop update as follows;

“The Android 5.0 Lollipop roll-out for Nexus 7 Wi-Fi-only devices worldwide has begun. The update will rolled out for Nexus 7 LTE/3G models around the beginning of December 2014,”

All Android Lollipop 5.0 or KitKat users whose phones are eligible for upgrade will get Android Lollipop 5.1 in February.
